Travis Tritt at the Tivoli Theatre - Sunday, 7:30pm

The highly abbreviated Tritt timeline has the young Georgian incorporating lifelong influences in Southern Rock, blues and gospel into his country during a honky-tonk apprenticeship that led him to Warner Bros. His 1990 debut Country Club and its succession of hits put him in the vanguard of the genre’s early ’90s boom. At the same time, his conspicuous lack of a cowboy hat and musical aggressiveness set him apart. The next eight albums and scores of hit singles led him to amass more than 25 million in career album sales, two Grammys, three CMA Awards and a devoted fan base that filled venues coast-to-coast. Purchase tickets for $34.50-$89.50. Photo and information about this event are from www.facebook.com/events

Theatre Center Presents “Murder on the Nile” - showings on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

Chattanooga Theatre Center

Idyllic surroundings are shattered by a shocking murder as one would expect from an Agatha Christie mystery story, but with the Chattanooga Theatre Centre’s interpretation of the celebrated writer’s “Murder on the Nile,” opening May 17 and running through June 9, you might feel that you’ve been dropped into the middle of a classic film of yore, not a classic whodunit on the stage. Nonetheless, this is live theatre at its best, with a delicious murder mystery giving every character the opportunity to show their best (and worst) selves.
