Lord Huron with Michael at the Signal - Friday, 8:30pm - SOLD OUT!
Evoking wide-open vistas and the spirit of travel, American indie outfit Lord Huron emerged in the early 2010s on the heels of the indie folk boom, bringing together an expansive and dynamic blend of folk, rock, pop, and threads of Americana. Led by Michigan native Ben Schneider, the Los Angeles-based Lord Huron -- who take their name from one of the five Great Lakes -- found mainstream success in 2014 with the release of their lush, Western-inspired second album, Strange Trails, whose closing track, "The Night We Met," reached an even larger audience in 2017 thanks to a key placement in the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why. The song charted in North America, Europe, and Australia. Republic Records took note and offered the band a record deal. Lord Huron's major-label debut, Vide Noir, hit shelves and streaming sites in April 2018, reaching the number ten spot on the Billboard 200 chart. Originally forming in 2011, the band has relied on blue-collar hard work and determination to secure every opportunity they’ve had, proving that anything is possible by sharing stages with rock legends, as well as personal heroes and influences like Red, Fuel, 10 Years, Trapt, and Scott Stapp. Emerge is comprised of brothers Jared (vocals, guitar), and Jeff Jones (drums) alongside Coty Green (guitar). Opening Night of “The Christians” by Lucas Hnath - Friday, 7:30pm-10:00pm Barking Legs Theatre ETC follows up its season opening production of SIDE SHOW, a musical that examined the freak in all of us, with a play that examines the faith in all of us. A relatively new play to hit the market, THE CHRISTIANS is a play about the pastor of a church, that started in a storefront and now finds itself as a megachurch, with thousands of members, a huge building, a debt paid off and a coffee shop in it’s lobby. This Pastor delivers a sermon that ends with an abrupt change in the philosophical and theological beliefs of this congregation he has shepherded.
