JGBCB-Jerry Garcia Band Cover Band with Winston Ramble - 9:00pm-12:00am

Songbirds South

Formed in Athens, GA in 2012, JGBCB has been filling a hole in the Grateful Dead scene by offering up spirited covers of classic songs pulled exclusively from the repertoire of the Jerry Garcia Band, Garcia's long-running side-project. JGBCB has played shows from Key West to Colorado, exciting audiences with performances of beloved Garcia tunes not found within the traditional Grateful Dead catalog.

The Jerry Garcia Band (famously known to Dead Heads as "JGB") was as much a songwriting outlet for Garcia as it was a chance for him to cover the music he loved. With Jerry and bassist John Kahn as the band's staples (playing together as far back as 1970), a varied set of keyboardists, drummers, and backup singers filled out the lineup over the years, each bringing their own unique character to the band. Over the course of it's existence, JGB played a number of diverse musical styles, covering artists such as The Beatles, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, The Band, Jimmy Cliff, Smoky Robinson, The Rolling Stones, the Wailers, J.J. Cale, and Ray Charles. The list goes on and on, recalling the names of rock, soul, and folk royalty.

It is with a deep love of Jerry Garcia's music and the music that he loved that the members of JGBCB approach this project. The band came together for a single show in December 2012, which led to a local weekly residency in Athens. The positive response they received ultimately led JGBCB to tour around the country, giving fans all over a taste of the music of the Jerry Garcia Band. Count on hearing different material from night to night, consisting of JGB staples and deep cuts. How sweet it is!

CHI Memorial Foundation is pleased to announce the 14th annual Pink! Gala will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the Chattanooga Convention Center. Dr. Lee and Sharron Jackson, and Dan and Amber Norton will co-chair the Foundation’s signature black-tie event. First Tennessee Bank is the presenting sponsor for the 2019 Pink! gala.

Over the past 13 years, Pink! has raised more than $4 million to further the mission of the MaryEllen Locher Breast Center at CHI Memorial ensuring the women in our community have access to the highest level of breast care available”, say Dan and Amber Norton.

The theme for this year’s gala is “The Greatest Show”. Pink! has set the bar as “the can’t miss event” in the Chattanooga region and 2019 will be no exception. Guests can expect an elegant evening with over-the top décor and entertainment.

Proceeds from Pink! are used to ensure the MaryEllen Locher Breast Center at CHI Memorial has the latest equipment and technology available, and provides the highest quality care available to women in need. Proceeds from the 2018 event helped build the fourth MaryEllen Locher Breast Center site located at Atrium Medical Center on Gunbarrel Road which is scheduled to open later this year.

Pink! is a celebration of life for breast cancer patients and survivors raising more than $4 million since 2006 to ensure our community has access to the most advanced breast cancer treatments available.

Smith has amassed an unfailingly devout fan base, not only in his native Southeast region, but all around the nation, simply by telling it the way it is. He has released 10 albums—including 2011’s Top 20 release The Broken Record. Corey has written every word on every album himself and he produced 9 out of 10 of the records. In Summer 2015, Corey teamed up with producer Keith Stegall (Alan Jackson, Zac Brown Band) for his album, “While the Gettin’ Is Good, ”which was released on Sugar Hill Records. Smith’s concerts, which were documented on his last live record, Live in Chattanooga, regularly sell out, with audiences singing along to such fan favorites as the coming-of-age anthem “Twenty-One,” the nostalgic time warp “If I Could Do It Again” and the group hug “I Love Everyone.” Corey consistently tours, hitting around 120 dates per year and has begun releasing singles from his upcoming project, the Great Wide Underground.

Chattanooga Theatre Center
The classic animated TV special comes to life in this faithful stage adaptation of Charles Schulz’s beloved tale in which Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the rest of the Peanuts gang discover the true meaning of Christmas. When Charlie Brown complains about the overwhelming materialism he sees during the Christmas season, Lucy suggests that he become director of the school Christmas pageant. Charlie Brown accepts, but this proves to be a frustrating endeavor. When an attempt to restore the proper holiday spirit with a forlorn little Christmas tree fails, he needs Linus’ help to discover the real meaning of Christmas. (Appropriate for 1st grade and up). Muscadine Bloodline with Koe Wetzel--9:00pm-12:00am

Songbirds South

Unapologetically Alabama. There’s a new force making major waves in country music. Natives of Mobile Alabama, Gary Stanton and Charlie Muncaster came together to form Muscadine Bloodline in early 2016. With three single releases under their belt and a schedule full of shows spanning from coast to coast, they’ve hit the ground running from day 1. Nashville took notice the first time these two stepped on the stage and it’s no surprise the rest of the music world is quickly catching on. Charlie’s [contemporary] vocals complimented by Gary’s harmonies and masterful guitar licks, MB is a powerfully refreshing mix of talent, passion and unfiltered authenticity. Infamously undaunted by the big stage, their sound intertwines the brash irreverence of early southern rockers with the seductive quality of 90s country love songs. Captivating hooks heard in songs like “Porch Swing Angel” and the aggressively anthemic “Shut Your Mouth” stand as a testament to MB’s wide ranging music-making capability. Every song and every show is a moving experience but at the same time, unmistakably Muscadine Bloodline. Purchase tickets for $20-$25 via eventbrite. Women’s Only Self-Defense Seminar with TKOd--2:00pm-4:00pm

The Commons

As the winter draws nearer the days become shorter. Yet, the holiday season causes us to be out and about even more, and sometimes well after the sun goes down. Crimes of opportunity thrive in this environment and women and girls are often chosen as "easy" targets. With all that needs to be done we can be busy and regimented and often unaware of the risks we are taking as we juggle tasks. What would you do if someone threatens you? If you don't have a good answer, this seminar is for you. This seminar will focus on empowering women with self-defense techniques that can be learned in an afternoon and inform them by teaching how desperate people determine opportunity. Learn how to become a "hard" target in an instant and repel opportunists from ruining your plans. Better still, learn how to avoid situations that embolden desperate people to upset your life. Photo and information about this event are from https://www.facebook.com/events/563345827450817/This is a completely FREE, WOMEN’S ONLY event for members and non-members alike.
